Privacy Policy

What this site collects, why, and how to get rid of it. Last updated 3 October 2026.

Who we are

SomeTool.ie is run by Monterra, SL, a company registered in Andorra at Carrer de l'Aigueta 19, 1r Pis, 3a Porta, Andorra la Vella AD500, Andorra. Niall Doherty runs it. Monterra, SL is the data controller for everything on this page. To ask about any of it, or to have your information deleted, email niall@sometool.ie.

The tools

The tools collect nothing. Every sum is done in your own browser, so the numbers, dates and IBANs you type in never leave your device. We don't see them, store them or log them.

What we do collect

  • The request form. Your name, your email address, whether you want a public or private tool, and what you write about it.
  • If you email us. Your email address and whatever is in the conversation.
  • Analytics. Which pages you looked at, roughly where in the world you are, your device and browser, how you found the site, and what you clicked. This is Google Analytics, described below.
  • Server logs. Our host keeps standard web request logs, including IP addresses, to serve the site and block attacks on it.

Why we collect it, and on what basis

  • To answer your request, and for a private tool, to quote for it. You asked us to, which under the GDPR is steps taken at your request before a contract, Article 6(1)(b).
  • To see which tools people use, and to keep the site up. Our legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f). You can object to this; see your rights, below.
  • To keep our books. If you pay for a private tool, invoices and records are kept because tax law says so.

We don't add anyone to a mailing list off the back of a request.

Cookies and analytics

This site runs Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies in your browser (_ga and _ga_*) so that a second visit can be told apart from a first. They last up to two years.

There is no cookie banner on this site, so those cookies are set when you arrive, not after you've agreed to them. We'd rather say that straight out. If you'd prefer not to be counted, any of these works:

  • Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which switches it off everywhere, not just here.
  • Block or clear cookies for this site in your browser settings.
  • Use a private or incognito window, which throws them away when you close it.

Google Signals, ads personalisation and data sharing with Google's advertising products are all switched off, and there's no advertising or retargeting pixel on this site. We use analytics to count visits and see which tools get used. That's all it's for.

Who else sees your information

We don't sell it, rent it, swap it or hand it to anyone for their own marketing. It does pass through the companies whose services run the site, each acting on our instructions under a contract:

  • HighLevel (United States): requests from the form land here.
  • Cloudflare: hosting for the site, the server logs above, and our email forwarding.
  • Google: Google Analytics, as described above.
  • Our email provider: it carries the conversation if you email us.

We would also hand something over if the law required it.

Where your information goes

Monterra, SL is registered in Andorra, which holds an adequacy decision from the European Commission, so personal data can move there from the EU with no extra safeguard needed.

HighLevel and Google are in the United States. Those transfers rest on their data processing terms, which include the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, and on their certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Cloudflare serves the site from whichever of its locations is nearest you.

How long we keep it

  • A request that doesn't turn into paid work: 24 months, then it's deleted.
  • Customer records: seven years after the last invoice, as tax rules require.
  • Analytics: 14 months, the retention set in Google Analytics.
  • Server logs: our host's own short retention, measured in days.

Ask us to delete you sooner and we will, except where the tax rules apply.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that's wrong;
  • delete it;
  • stop or restrict what we're doing with it;
  • give it to you, or to someone else, in a portable format;
  • stop processing it where we rely on legitimate interests, which covers the analytics.

Email niall@sometool.ie. It's free, we'll come back to you within a month, and if we can't tell it's really you we'll ask before handing anything over.

If you want to complain

Tell us first. If that doesn't settle it, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, or to the Andorran Data Protection Agency.
